mobile fabriek
- Amsterdam - NL
During the Habitat Platform, the raw foundation
came into contact with ‘De Mobiel Fabriek,b.v.’, an
Amsterdam based company that is developing a mobile rubble-to-block
factory in 14 containers, that will provide building materials from
rubble in disaster areas. In a productive and inspiring meeting
with Florens van den Bosch and his colleague, it was discussed how
part of the development research will be directed at the adaptation
of the process in order to use ‘other’ materials, following
the raw goals and could be seen as a development of one of the prototypes
mentioned in rawstuff - 08.2006 - the sealed,compressed,plastic-waste
lego-block.
Potential collaborations in the context of brainstorming and concept
development were discussed, where raw would be contracted to join
the development team. This type of contract work, a source of private
income for the foundation, will eventually reduce the dependance
on subsidies.
