architectural competition EenVoud
almere, the netherlands
organized by architecture center CASLa in NL - 06.2006
planned for possible construction in 2007
68m2 house constructed from salvaged/reused materials;
open plan with a compact core, containing all usual domestic services,
sleeping platform above
materials as starting point:
elements/modules found/salvaged/scored;
the money spent on time/work rather than on the material itself;
emphasis on the methodology, detailing and workmanship;
sophistication: energy efficiencies and qualities increased;
distinctive bio-morphic form, a series of bays,
allowing for differences in proposed and found materials;
compact core, sense of space created by extra height;
specific tasks allocated to [sub]cultural construction artists,
in a project collective, avoiding the profit of an established contractor.
